We ask a lot of our ministerial leaders. The Evangelical Covenant Church is pleased to be able to partner with the local church in helping resource our pastors in fulfilling their call. It takes a denominational-wide effort to support those who help lead our churches in kingdom endeavors. Pastoral excellence involves holistic Christ-centered development, life long vocational and Biblical formation, and regular occasions of renewal and re-visioning that sustain healthy enduring ministry.

Qualified ministers may apply for a grant in three areas:

character:

Focuses on the internal formation of the pastor, specifically through the ministry of spiritual direction.

Focuses on growth in the core pastoral arts of teaching, preaching, leading, and caring.

Emphasizes renewal opportunities through personal retreats or the Covenant’s re-visioning retreats.

Sustaining Pastoral Excellence grants are available to Covenant pastors, missionaries, and chaplains who satisfy the SPE-eligibility requirements and follow the process outlined for application. We encourage you to read the requirements and process information before submitting an application.
